Before joining New Jersey Urban News, Salomon reported for New Mexico In Depth, where her feature on LGBTQ+ youth homelessness was republished as a cover story by the Santa Fe Reporter and reached policymakers at the New Mexico Statehouse. She also reported for New York University’s graduate publication, The Click, covering housing and education issues across Union County, New Jersey.

Salomon earned a master’s degree in journalism from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in English, cum laude, from Saint Elizabeth University. She is also the author of seven books of poetry. A New Jersey native, she is passionate about producing thoughtful, community-focused journalism that informs the public, holds institutions accountable, and amplifies underrepresented voices.
