A hazardous heat wave will grip New Jersey starting Wednesday, with the worst expected Thursday and Friday. The entire state is under a heat advisory watch. 

“Dangerous triple digit heat is forecast for later this week and into the holiday weekend,” the National Weather Service said early Monday. “All time record high temperatures could be challenged and multiple 100 degree days could occur.”

Demand on the power grid also climbs as air conditioners run nonstop, raising the risk of outages at the worst possible time.
