Rutgers University recently annouced that all events at Rutgers Athletics indoor competition venues will operate in accordance with current restrictions on indoor gatherings. Per Governor Phil Murphy’s Executive Orders and Administrative Order No. 220-22, the number of individuals permitted to attend an indoor college sports competition is limited to 25% of the room’s capacity, but not more than 25 individuals. Athletes, coaches, trainers and other necessary individuals are not included in the 25 person limit. The collective number of people at an indoor event cannot exceed 150. All safety precautions will be in place for those individuals in attendance.
“We understand and support the Governor’s decision based on health and safety guidelines,” officials said in a statement. “Athletic department officials will continue to monitor any changes to public health guidelines and adjust accordingly. ”
Season ticket holders for men’s basketball, women’s basketball and wrestling will receive information from the Rutgers Ticket Office regarding the next steps and options for their account.
Rutgers Athletics officials said they encourage its fans and supporters to continue to take all necessary measures and follow the Governor’s executive orders and the guidance of public health officials, including wearing a mask, practicing physical distancing and increased hand hygiene.
