Get Ready To Celebrate October Poetry Month With Paterson!

In July 2024, Paterson City Council declared October Paterson Poetry Month. This resolution was motivated by the success of the Paterson Poetry Festival, which for the past six years has successfully brought poets from all over New Jersey to Paterson while also spotlighting and providing a space for members of the Paterson community to share their art.

Paterson’s Poet Laureate, Talena Lachelle Queen, and Word Seed Inc., the same team that has organized the festival all these years, have curated a month full of features, workshops, open mic opportunities, and other quality poetry programming around the city.

The month’s programming opens on October 1st at 6:30 p.m. at the Main Branch of the Paterson Free Public Library (250 Broadway, Paterson). For a complete list of programs and locations, visit www.wordseedinc.org.
