The Newark Teachers Union and the American Red Cross sponsored a community blood drive on June 10 and 11 at Club España in Newark.
“We urge community members to donate blood to help ensure that patients in local hospitals have blood ready and waiting for emergencies,” said NTU President John Abeigon. “The NTU is committed to strengthening our community and helping to meet hospital and patient needs through blood donations. Our union healthcare workers and others are saving lives every day, but they need blood.”
The Red Cross says the need for donors of all blood types continues, especially those with types O-negative, A-negative and B-negative.
