Your Guide To The 2025 Election In New Jersey
This year’s election in New Jersey will determine not just the governor’s race, but the balance of power across the state.
Control of the state Legislature is up for grabs, with Democrats fighting to retain their majority and Republicans aiming to break through after years in the minority. The outcome could determine the state’s political direction on everything from housing policy to reproductive rights for years to come.
Beyond the statewide races, local ballots will decide county commissioners, city council members, school board seats, and mayors–including a high-profile mayoral contest in Jersey City.
