Edison Man Charged with Sexual Assault and Other Charges

On January 10, 2025, Detective Clint Hetzell from the Edison Police Department began an investigation into allegations of sexual assault involving a female victim. She reported that Faton Boqolli had sexually assaulted her after they met on Facebook.

As a result of this investigation, Boqolli was arrested and charged. He is currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending the results of a Pre-Trial detention hearing.

Previously, on August 5, 2024, Detective Daniela Castro of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and Detective Michael Geist of the Edison Police Department began an investigation into allegations of sexual assault involving a female victim who implicated Faton Boqolli.

The investigation discovered that Boqolli had met the victim through Facebook, and during their in-person meeting, he sexually assaulted her. As a result of this investigation, Boqolli was arrested and charged on August 6, 2024, with Sexual Assault, Criminal Restraint, and Criminal Sexual Contact.

As with all criminal defendants, the charges against Boqolli are just allegations, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
