12 Inspiring Women’s History Month Events In NJ & NYC

Looking for ways to celebrate Women’s History Month? From empowerment summits in Jersey City to STEM days at the Intrepid, discover the best local events for families and professionals this March.

Every March is Women’s History Month, honoring the extraordinary achievements of women that made an impact on the United States. This year’s theme, “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future,” looks forward and recognizes those doing the work.

Several organizations will celebrate Women’s History Month across New Jersey and New York City with activities for the entire family from art exhibits, historical lectures, empowerment summits and business expos.

Women’s History Month Celebration

The Bergen County Commission on the Status of Women celebrates Women’s History Month by honoring women who advocate for diversity, inclusion, and equity. This free event, with a light dinner, is scheduled for March 12 at 5:30 p.m. at Two Bergen County Plaza in Hackensack.

2nd Annual Women Owned Business Expo 

Celebrate Women’s History Month by attending the annual women’s business convention, which supports women-owned businesses. This is an opportunity to engage, network, and connect directly with business owners to learn about their products and services on March 13, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. in Saddle Brook at the Crowne Plaza.

Funny Hunnyz Comedy Show 

Ugly Pancake Productions presents a Women’s History Month comedy night at the Woman’s Club of Asbury Park featuring Dena Blizzard The event is hosted by Joey Borzotta and Angelo Gingerelli and also features comics Ruthy Ferrera and Josh Tinley on March 14 at 8:00 p.m.

Let’s Talk: Women’s Health & Wellness

NJPAC celebrates Women’s History Month on March 14 with an in-depth discussion on women’s health featuring lively conversations, wellness activities, and a curated marketplace.

The Annual Phyllis Marchand Leadership Lecture 

This year’s Women’s History Month talk, a free in-person event on March 19, at 6:30 p.m., at Princeton Public Library features astrophysicist Jenny Greene.

The Princeton Girlchoir Ensemble of Westrick Music Academy will perform selections for the celebrations followed by a talk from professor Jenny Greene.

The Well: A Day of Empowerment 

A restorative half-day experience for women leaders at The Table in Jersey City, on March 21 at 11 a.m., honors Women’s History Month. The Well invites accomplished women to step away from the demands of leadership and into a sanctuary designed to restore clarity, creativity, and sustainable energy.

Win, Rock & Rule: Women’s Empowerment 2026 

This women’s empowerment event, on March 31 at 4 p.m., at the Renaissance Woodbridge Hotel in Iselin, celebrates Women’s History Month with an opportunity to network, receive career coaching, capture new headshots, and refresh your resume. 

New York City also has several events celebrating Women’s History Month, most are free to attend but require registration. 

Girls in Science and Engineering Day

The Intrepid Museum, on March 14, celebrates Women’s History Month with over 20 organizations leading hands-on activities that demonstrate real-world STEM applications focused on engineering, science, technology, and aerospace. The museum also provides a college and career zone for attendees to meet experts and role models and learn about career pathways. Attendees are also encouraged to explore the museum throughout the day.

Kid Sensory Session: Mary Anning Fossil Dig for Women’s History Month

Macomb’s Bridge Library, in Harlem, celebrates Women’s History Month on March 21 with a 45-minute sensory play session where you’ll explore different auditory, tactile, and visual activities and related reading material.

Women’s History Month: Paint & Celebrate

The Macon Library, in Brooklyn, has scheduled an activity for teens, on March 21, to create their own stunning painting in celebration of Women’s History Month. No painting experience is necessary at all!

Women’s History Month Celebration at the Central Library

The Brooklyn Public Library celebrates Women’s History Month on March 28,
with a special performance that honors the artistry, strength, and cultural legacy of women through three contrasting works drawn from Chinese and Asian dance traditions.
