Camden Education Fund Boosts School Collaboration

Laura Waters is the managing editor of NJ Education Report, where this report was initially published.

The event featured student performers from the San Juan Bautista Parada and Camden Repertory Theater, raffles, games, and food as school leaders from District, Charter and Renaissance schools, Youth Serving Organizations (YSOs), and community partners discussed potential collaborations.

As a part of the event, CEF distributed $500 microgrant gift cards to each school, totalling $20,000 across the city. This money will provide school leaders with an opportunity to celebrate and honor the dedicated staff at their schools.

“We’re excited to bring together principals and assistant principals from across the city with leaders from youth-serving organizations to build community and enjoy student performances,” said Giana Campbell, chief executive officer of Camden Education Fund. “It is the perfect opportunity to recognize the hard work of Camden educators, explore new partnership opportunities, and discuss how we can continue to support students and schools in the coming year.”
