Fatal Hit and Run in Woodbridge, NJ Under Investigation
On October 25, 2024, at 9:05 A.M., Woodbridge police responded to the area of Route 9 and Green Street in Woodbridge Township following the report of a single-car crash.
Upon arrival, authorities located a 2017 Kia Sportage, occupied by only the front passenger, Mario Ortiz Bonilla, 47, of North Plainfield. Bonilla had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An investigation led by Detective Jeffery Horvath of the Woodbridge Police Department and Detective Matthew Colonna of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that the driver of the Kia Sportage fled the scene.

Oh my God, I used to work with Mario in New Jersey. He was a really nice guy and very humble man. May he rest in peace. I really hope they catch the driver of the vehicle.
