New Brunswick Man Charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child

Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Vincent Sabo of the New Brunswick Police Department announced today that a 26-year-old man has been charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

An investigation by Detective Lauren Leyva of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and Detective Bill Coleman of the New Brunswick Police Department revealed that Dwany Cruz, 26, of New Brunswick, had inappropriate sexual contact with a minor on several occasions while employed as a Recreation Assistant at a summer program in New Brunswick.

On August 15, 2024, Cruz surrendered to the New Brunswick Police Department and was charged with third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

As is the case with all criminal defendants, the charges against Cruz are
merely accusations, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
