MAYOR BARAKA and HelloFresh/ No Kid Hungry to Host Meal Distribution Event
Mayor Ras J. Baraka and the City of Newark will join HelloFresh and No Kid Hungry to distribute 4,000 free meals to families and youth at risk and in need on Monday, June 24, at 10 a.m., at Chancellor Avenue Elementary School. The school is located at 321 Chancellor Avenue in Newark’s South Ward.
The three organizations will distribute 4,000 HelloFresh meals with wholesome, easy-to-follow recipes designed especially for families with kids and information on family grocery benefits, including Summer EBT, SNAP, and a free local meal finder, courtesy of No Kid Hungry.
The program aims to reduce hunger in Newark, which is more pronounced in summer when kids do not eat at school.
This community event is part of a new “13 for 13 Million” campaign, a joint initiative from HelloFresh and No Kid Hungry that aims to raise awareness of childhood food insecurity and its effect on 13 million kids nationwide.
