Juneteenth: A Day of Hope and Opportunity

Today, we celebrate Juneteenth.

The day commemorates the end of legal slavery in the United States. Juneteenth is a day to reflect on the history of slavery in this country and the ongoing fight for racial equality and justice.

Juneteenth is a day of hope and opportunity for the National Urban League. It reminds us of the resilience and strength of the Black community and their determination to overcome systemic racism and other forms of discrimination. Juneteenth also reminds us of the ongoing need for continued vigilance in the fight for racial justice and equality.

Despite the progress that has been made, there is still a long way to go. The National Urban League and you, our valued members and supporters, remain steadfast in our commitment to the ongoing fight for racial equality and justice. We firmly believe that everyone, regardless of race, deserves the opportunity to participate in society and reach their full potential fully.

Juneteenth is a day to celebrate the resilience and strength of the Black community and their determination to overcome systemic racism and other forms of discrimination.
