The New Jersey Department of Education, in collaboration with Arts Ed NJ and the Art Educators of New Jersey, today unveiled featured student art selections in the “Hope, Healing and Resilience Through the COVID-19 Pandemic” Art Showcase & Installation Project.
In October 2022, Acting Education Commissioner Angelica Allen-McMillan invited New Jersey students from preschool through 12th grade to submit art that expresses a positive message of hope, healing, and resilience through the COVID- 19 pandemic. More than 1,400 original pieces of two-dimensional art were submitted in response to the call for submissions. Students submitted painting, drawing, photography, digital and designs electronically.
“The enthusiastic response from students shows their resiliency as they persevere through the challenges they continue to face as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Acting Commissioner Allen-McMillan. “Each submission reflects the young artist’s hope for the future.”
The Commissioner thanks all those students that submitted artwork. Their submissions available on the Hope, Healing, and Resilience Through the COVID 19 Pandemic website.
