Thirty-six percent of professionals in a new Korn Ferry survey said they were planning on seeking a new job in the future because the pandemic allowed them to consider what they really wanted for a career.

Nearly a third (31%) of respondents said they would quit their job without another position lined up, while 45% said they are more likely now to leave a job without backup employment than they were prior to the pandemic.

“The last 18 months have given us all a lot of time for introspection, and many professionals realize that the day-to-day grind of their jobs just isn’t worth it, and it’s time to pursue work options that are more fulfilling and provide purpose,” said Korn Ferry Workforce Transformation Practice Leader Elise Freedman.

Additionally, 43% said they would turn down a job offer if it required going to the office every day.
